Student Magazine Sketch

This is my sketch for my student magazine. My student magazine will be called “Media Monthly” and will be in a fixed location. I will have a medium close up shot of one of my friends to put in the centre of the magazine. I will have a caption saying “Sheldon school monthly magazine” and various other column inches to fill the space. I will make my student magazine fit the target audience which is for students. I will do this by adding the text Uni application, student discounts and revision tips to make it appeal to the specific target audience.

Time magazine cover

This is my practice “Time” magazine cover, it is unfinished but i am posting my progress on it so far. I choose this image of Lucy Mecklenburgh to star in my magazine cover as it was a clear high definition image with a white plain background which makes the whole composition simple and stand out. The image is a central close up shot which bleeds of the page and works well within the composition of the magazine cover, Lucy’s eyes and the magazines title are above the fold which is communally used in many magazine covers, again it makes the cover simple but effective. I am happy with the central image of Lucy, the boarder and the font and colour of title, however the column inch needs to be re-positioned and recolored as it doesn’t work well within the rest of the composition. I need to add a caption and more text onto the front cover of the magazine to finish it off and look more professional.
